Wow! What a book! Yes, it is about World War II. Yes, the story happens during the Nazis' siege of Leningrad, the main character is a Jewish boy. Yes, the story is sad and the tragedy of these days is always in the background. But this book is also so funny, fascinating, and optimistic. I finished it with a big smile on my face.
